Public Outreach Volunteer Opportunities
Help increase public awareness of the Save Our Trees Campaign
We need your help to promote the campaign and encourage the public to take action at www.dontclearcutseattle.org. Below are a few ways to help immediately.
SIGN UP FOR ONE OR MORE VOLUNTEER TEAMS
Volunteers receive direction, training, messaging points, and needed support. Help once or several times, it’s up to you.
Yard Sign Distribution
Help increase Save Our Trees Yard signs across Seattle. Volunteers will target numerous neighborhoods, asking permission to place signs on residential and commercial property along main thoroughfares and identified locations.

Flyer Distribution
Help increase Save Our Trees Yard signs across Seattle. Volunteers will target numerous neighborhoods, asking permission to place signs on residential and commercial property along main thoroughfares and identified locations.
Help distribute flyers to encourage the public to support our campaign and visit the website where they will send the letter to the city and can learn more information about the campaign or get more involved. Volunteers will post on various neighborhood bulletin boards, such as coffee shops, laundromats, post offices, churches, workplaces, etc

Public Engagement
Personally promote our campaign and encourage the public to take action at www.dontclearcutseattle.org.
Sign up for our advocacy team to help engage and educate the public about Seattle’s rapid mature tree loss, the city’s current lack of protection, and why citizens need to put the pressure on city government to adopt stronger protections and ensure enforcement.
Volunteer opportunities include:
- Leaflet or table at neighborhood events and farmer’s markets
- Distribute leaflets and talk with people at large events
- Bring awareness to our campaign at community or city meetings
- Participate in demonstrations at hi-traffic locations, development sites, or city hall

Invite your neighbors to join the campaign, attend meetings and become advocates.
Engage on Social Media
- Post, share, and comment about the campaign on Social Media. When possible, include a call to action like “urge Mayor Durkan and the city council to adopt the Urban Forestry Commission’s draft Tree Protection Ordinance” and link to https://dontclearcutseattle.org
- Post photos, stories and engage in conversations on the Don’t Clearcut Seattle facebook page.
- Engage on Nextdoor, Patch, and websites where local conversations can occur. Stay positive if the conversation derails, and use talking points from our materials and website.
